Jose Enrique

Jose Enrique started his footballing career as Spanish side Levante. He made 19 appearances for Levante's B team before moving onto Valencia. He never made an appearance for Valencia and instead was loaned out to Celta Vigo where after an impressive loan spell he was snapped up by Villarreal.

During 2006/2007, Enrique made 23 appearances for Villarreal but on August 6th 2007 it was announced that he was on his way to Newcastle United for £6.3million.

Enrique was made to wait for his Newcastle debut, then manager Sam Allardyce feeling he was not yet ready for English football plus stand in left back Charles N'Zogbia was putting in some impressive displays.

Enrique was finally given a debut in the Carling Cup against Barnsley with Newcastle running out 2-0 winners, he played the full 90 minutes and finally made his debut as a substitute on September 30th against West Ham United.
