Malcolm MacDonald
Born in Fulham, Malcolm started his career in a full back position before converting to a striker role and he started his career with his home town club. After a year at Fulham he moved on to Luton Town scoring 49 goals in 88 games which caught the eye of Newcastle United manager Joe Harvey.
In the summer of 1971 he joined Newcastle United for £180,000 and quickly became a favourite, scoring a hat trick on his debut against Liverpool and finishing the top scorer for five seasons in a row. He also earned a call up to the England side and scored all five goals as England defeat Cyprus 5-0.
Mac joined Arsenal in 1976 for the bizarre fee of £333,333.33 and played two full seasons where he finished the top scorer in both but suffered a knee injury in the League Cup during his third season, from which he could not recover.
He came back with Djurgardens for a couple of months but prematurely retired at the age of 29 and having never won any major honours despite competing in FA Cup finals with both Newcastle and Arsenal.
